The Savannah Team
Outstanding Service and Hospitality
Savannah Safaris’ care and hospitality is second to none.
Relax and enjoy each day with the care and consideration of our highly-qualified friendly team
Adrien’s Bramoullé’s French parents emigrated to South Africa and he subsequently attended one of the country’s leading farming oriented boarding schools. During that time he frequently camped at Pilanesberg, swam in the lake (this is no longer permitted!) and was part of the working party removing signs of human habitation and helping to restore the traditional environment.
Later, as a veterinary sector professional, he studied and worked in France, the UK and throughout the world. He built up 20 years managerial experience in sales, marketing and strategy within the animal health pharmaceutical and surgical environment throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. He was also an invited guest lecturer for MBA management courses.
In recent years, after having left his high-flying career, he returned to Pilanesberg as an owner of Savannah Safari’s lodge and combines welcoming guests there from November to mid-March with hosting luxury hotel barge cruises in France from April to October.
Adrien is also a Board Member of the Elephant Population Management Program, an international collaboration of wildlife specialists, veterinarians, industry partners and game reserve/national park managers.
WINING AND DINING
Your Private Chef
Your Savannah Safaris private chef creates delicious gourmet lunches and dinners throughout your week at Pilanesburg. Your food preferences are noted in advance – including allergies – so that each individual can be catered for and meals planned to perfection. And where possible, all produce is sourced locally and purchased or delivered fresh as required.
Valerie Egea is our talented chef at the Lodge from November to mid-March, working alongside host Adrien Bramoulle.
Born and raised in Occitanie, France, Valerie graduated from the school of cuisine in Beziers and has since worked in many prestigious restaurants in the south of France, including a vegetarian and organic restaurant, both genres close to her heart.
She has also worked as a private chef on board luxury hotel barges and is currently resident chef aboard the Savannah barge from April to October each year.
Wines are permanently sourced from regional vineyards so as to offer exceptional products from the wine producing areas close by, and wines and champagnes from other regions of the world are also available.
At least two wine tastings are organised for the two week Platinum safari vacation in the prestigious Stellenbosch vineyards near Cape Town allowing you to meet the wine maker, visit the domains and discover their acclaimed creations.
IN SAFE HANDS
Bonny Southey is one of our select group of ranger guides. She grew up close to Pilanesberg and knows the park and its wildlife exceptionally well. She has been a professional ranger and field guide here for four years, also having first aid and firearms certification.
Bonny, like all Savannah rangers, is an enthusiastic communicator; knowledgeable, friendly and committed to her guests having the best possible animal encounters experience in her safe hands.
She’s also a great four wheel drive chauffeur!
BACK AT BASE
Lodge Manager Charlotte looks after the lodge day-to-day, making sure that everything is as it should be and runs smoothly. She liaises with our Rangers and Chefs and also does the initial grocery shop for self-catering guests.
Our two full-time housemaids, Poppy and Balakele, keep guest chalets in perfect order, cleaning, tidying and dealing with laundry. Gardener Jonathan keeps our grounds, plants and our pool looking at their very best.
